Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a Rental Agreement provided at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle collection. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations for the rental period. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take precedence.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a Vehicle with Us
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Burnt Oak, you must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may vary depending on the vehicle type, with additional fees applicable for drivers under 25. A valid driving licence, appropriate for the vehicle category, is required, along with proof of identity and current address. Valid payment details and a security deposit must also be provided, in addition to any specific requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, telephone, or at our Burnt Oak office. To confirm your booking, a deposit may be required. Full payment and a security deposit are usually expected at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, you are required to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed, which both parties will sign. It is necessary to return the vehicle in the same state as it was collected, allowing only for standard wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. The vehicle should also be returned with the same fuel level as at the start of the rental. Refueling fees will be applied if the fuel level is lower upon return. Should you anticipate a late return, please contact us as soon as possible, as additional charges may apply. You will be accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental period, along with an administrative fee.
5. Insurance and Responsibility
- Basic third-party insurance is included with every car rental from Burnt Oak. Detailed coverage information and excess amounts can be found in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to further limit your financial responsibility. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless you opt for additional coverage. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance.
6. Cancellations and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges, which are outlined in your agreement.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or similar hazardous actions. Transporting dangerous materials is prohibited, as is sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Ensure that passenger and weight limits are not exceeded, and refrain from operating the vehicle outside the agreed geographical boundaries without explicit permission.
Breach of terms may lead to rental cancellation and charges.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Burnt Oak will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, that may occur from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the rental fee you paid in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of the courts in this region.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any point. Changes take effect immediately upon their publication on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
